Antiques at Pike Place

Antiques at Pike Place is a colorfully crowded antique shop found on steep sloping Stewart street near the middle section of the Market. Small to medium eclectic vintage items to decorate the home line the nooks and crannies and climb the walls of this store. Visitors can add to their venerable collection of porcelain advertising signs, pre-war era toys, tea sets, magazines, and assorted items that border, but never fall, on garishness. However to the novice eye the biggest "defined" collection within Antiques at Pike Place concentrates on costume jewelry and thus is a popular destination for maidens looking to add some flash to their current curation of accessories. The most enjoyable part about "picking" from Antiques at Pike Place is that it feels like a small tightly packed antique shop but as you walk in through its time traveling entrance you realize you've entered a never ending maze of kaleidoscopic kitsch.

Seattle Antiques Market

The Seattle Antiques Market is an antique, curio, and vintage mini-mall of epic proportions.  With so much inventory that much of it is displayed on the concrete ledge facing Alaskan Way along the waterfront passerbyers can't help but wander up to take a peek. Well traveled steamer trunks, old coin operated rocking horses, rows of LP records and stacks of vintage Playboys line the exterior while the entrance is rich with salt water rusted nautical nostalgia. Decades old airplane replicas dangle from the ceiling, jukeboxes stand begging to be placed in recreation rooms, tin toys incite baby boomer childhood memories, and porcelain ad signs from the 50's hock products that haven't been sold for half a century. At the back ornate wood furnishings with color tones between butterscotch and deep dark brown are found within the expansive establishment but none of it is Victorian pretentious - this is pure Americana at its best. Everything is icing coated in patina.

The Seattle Antiques Mall is part American museum, part pop-culture phenomenon, and 100% retail bliss for anyone with a penchant for vintage decor of any category.

Seattle Premium Outlets is the ultimate shopping day trip from Seattle (and even for those across the border in Vancouver) and is located a mere 30 minutes away along Interstate 5. We focus on the word “excursion” because for this number one entry, the optimum scenario would be to come early and check in at Tulalip Resort Casino the head over to the outlet mall via shuttle and shop to your heart's desire, or until you reach your “available limit.

The Bellevue Collection

The Bellevue Collection is a monolithic 3 phase structure of shopping, entertainment and accommodation. First, Bellevue Place is home to some of the best restaurants around Seattle as well as the Hyatt Regency Bellevue and specialty boutiques for those tired of finding multiples of clothing and accessory items on retail racks that all but guarantee that you will bump into someone wearing the exact same thing at the worst possible time (proms, weddings, Sunday afternoons, etc...). Lincoln Square is where you will find a luxury cinema, the Westin Bellevue Hotel & Spa, more specialty shops and entertainment venues (billiards, upscale watering holes). Finally, the queen of it all is Bellevue Square, the shopping epicenter of Seattle.

Buster Drake Antiques

Smaller in scale and collection than its nearby counterparts (Seattle Antiques Market and Antiques at Pike Place) Buster Drake Antiques finds its place as one of the best antique shops in Seattle by curating fine vintage goods and displaying them in an atmosphere that doesn't leave you feeling like you need to shake the dust off your purchase and person upon exiting the store. This 1st Avenue shop is well placed near the Seattle Art Museum due to its demeanor and gallery worthy classic collection within. Its limited hours of operation often leaves passerbyers pressed up against its window while fine furnishings, decorative center pieces, and even vintage advertising signs tease from behind the pane. Buster Drake may not have a massive inventory but everything within its walls is carefully selected for the discriminating treasure hunter. No vintage shopping tour of Seattle is complete without paying Buster Drake a visit.

Westfield Shopping Center

In 2010, the  prestigious International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) gave Westfield Southcenter a Gold Award for top achievement in design of retail properties in the U.S.. What this “gold star” means is that you'll be shopping in one of the most aesthetically pleasing atmospheres around, if not downright feng shui. Of course what really matters are the stores inside, after all you're not there to take pictures. With hundreds of shops and services available all conveniently located within minutes from Sea-Tac airport at the intersection of I-5 and I-405, Southcenter Mall is a prime destination point for anyone seeking an 8-12hr day worth of shopping and mall based entertainment (foodcourt, movies, etc...).
