1. Big Picture

Address : 2505 1st Ave, Seattle, WA

Phone : (206) 256-0566

Description : Big Picture was created… view more

Big Picture was created with the belief that hotel meeting space is boring and that there is nothing really special about going to a multiplex theatre. In 1999, we decided to dramatically change both of these experiences.

We're rolling out the red carpet so please step inside. You'll see the custom furnishings that William Randolph Hearst would have wanted in his castle, crystal chandeliers, beautiful draperies, state of the art digital screening rooms that a Hollywood mogul would envy and shag (yeah, baby!) carpets. Check out our custom bars; is that Humphrey Bogart leaning in to order a martini? In Redmond, the Rat Pack inspired Q Club Billiards room is waiting for you... "rack em up, pal"!

Seattle Cinerama Theatre, built in 1963, is owned by philanthropist and investor Paul G. Allen, who saved it from demolition in 1988. Vulcan Inc. directed a spectacular restoration of the theater’s early 1960s interiors and brought back the massive, curved screen used for special presentations of Cinerama and 70mm wide-screen movies. Seattle Cinerama is one of only three theaters in the world that can show original three-strip Cinerama films.

Description : The Grand Illusion Cinema… view more

The Grand Illusion Cinema is the longest running independent cinema in the city, and has become a landmark of the film community. Opened in 1968 by Randy Findley in a converted dentist’s office the cinema became the city’s first arthouse and showcased foreign and revival films. The cinema was a success and lead to Randy opening the Seven Gables Cinema and eventually starting the local Seven Gables Theatre Chain, which inevitably got swallowed by the national Landmark Cinema Corporation. The Grand Illusion was never part of the Seven Gables Chain and remained a popular independent venue.
