YAH Says : Pearl's Deluxe Burgers is… view more

Pearl's Deluxe Burgers is a comfort food burger joint in San Francisco with a serious local following of regulars. Known for their 1/2 pound (deluxe) meaty beef burgers, Pearl's is all about appetite satisfaction and the atmosphere and service is reminiscent of an old style diner where the neighborhood converges to stuff their faces over small talk and a place where traveling foodies seek out to add to their blogs and Instagram portfolio.

The Deluxe w/Cheese & Bacon is a tasty monster burger and popular item gracing the chrome bar table of visiting carnivores. The Mini Burgers aren't quite the "sliders" you envision, weighing in with a 1/4 pound of juicy beef. For those opting out of beef Pearl's serves up a 1/2 pound Buffalo Burger as well as a turkey, veggie, and grilled chicken option. We recommend adding a hefty dollop of Pearl's blue cheese ($1 extra) which perfectly complements the juicy patties at this burger joint. The Specialty items hint of Hawaiian flare in the award winning Bula Burger that comes with spicy pineapple teriyaki sauce w/bacon, mayo, and Swiss cheese. The Phat Bob is pretty hot and tempting and our personal favorite packed with BBQ sauce, bacon, mayo, onion rings, and jack cheese. We could go on and on but simply refer to the burger menu above to see what best suits your palate at Pearl's Deluxe Burgers. They also have the other staple items commonly found in San Francisco burger joints such as Chili Fries, Onion Rings, and the like. But next to the burgers, Pearl's Deluxe Burgers is well known for their Special Shakes and we recommend the Peanut Butter Chocolate and/or the Nutella (yep, Nutella!).

Pearl's Deluxe Burgers is a gem in the San Francisco burger scene.

Frequently found at the SOMA StreatFood Park - a San Francisco Food Truck pod - IZ IT Fresh pays homage to the Big Kahuna of the food truck business, Hawaii, by offering items you are more likely to find served from a mobile eatery on the North Shore of Oahu than on the Mainland. In particular we refer to the IZ IT Fresh Spammer, which is born straight from the Sandwich Islands. While we've seen countless of other Mainland food trucks and eateries attempt to emulate this Hawaiian staple, IZ IT Fresh nails the freshness of Spam Musubi while frying up the four lettered square canned pink meat "delicacy" to perfection. Wrapped seaweed tight with spice and sticky rice the Spammer get it right. The Kicker soft tacos are also a fun handheld snack and they pack a definite wallop (or should we say "kick") and The Icon (aka "Kwong Shing's Fried Chicken") is light while super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Belgian Waffles and food trucks go hand in hand. They're the perfect street food snack and in a city so well known for food trucks it only makes sense that one the best belgian waffle joints in the Bay Area is found rolling along the streets of San Francisco. Golden Waffle serves up the Liege Waffle - a soft, sweet, chewy variety that exudes comfort with each bite.

San Francisco Delfina Restaurant ChefAbout (From Management)

Delfina is a bustling neighborhood trattoria in San Francisco’s Mission District, owned by Anne and Craig Stoll. Our dining room accommodates seventy people and features seating at an eight person dining counter and a five-stool wine bar.

The food is Italian in spirit— elemental, seasonal cooking whose simple appearance belies its depth of flavor.  It’s the kind of food you might find if a great Italian cook were lifted out of Italy and placed in California. Inspired by trattorias found throughout Italy, the menu changes daily, driven by the offerings of local producers. We cure many of our own meats and fish and make our own sausages, pastas, and gelato.  Our desserts are made fresh daily.  We are committed to using organic produce and sustainably- raised meats and fish whenever possible.

The wine list, like the food, focuses exclusively on Italy and California. Small, hands-on producers making varietally correct wines are championed. The list changes often as our wine director Samantha Brennan discovers new finds.

Both the setting and service are imbued with the vibe of the restaurant’s  Mission neighborhood.  Friendly and knowledgeable, the servers have been recognized as “do(ing) their job better than many tuxedoed traditionalists.” Delfina was awarded "Best Waitstaff" by San Francisco Magazine in 2003.  As designed by Douglas Burnham of Envelope Architecture and Design, the rich pallette of wrapping Jarrah hardwoods and zinc tables creates a warm, tactile space.  Fresh flowers, upbeat music, and an open kitchen add to the lively atmosphere.

Delfina is named in honor of Ristorante Da Delfina in Artimino, Tuscany where Craig worked in 1991.
