ABOUT From Dim Saam Website

Sakaya Kitchen launched mobile food truck Dim Ssäm à gogo. Chef/Owner Richard Hales is taking his Mission “No Frills Just Good F’n Food” to the streets of Miami.

The mobile menu will include the best old school eats from Sakaya Kitchen and the popular “Dim Ssam Sundays” brunch. Dim Ssäm à gogo will also use natural beef, poultry and pork, organic dairy and support local farmers like Swank. Build a banquet through the popular Dim Ssam Sundays ½ sized portions or just say “double me up” for a full size chow down. Prices will range from $1-$6, not f’n bad for local, made from scratch Asian goodness.Dim Ssäm à gogo will hit the streets for lunch, dinner & for late night party goers. Dim Ssäm à gogo with Sakaya Kitchen will also be throwing our bao in the ring for private events catering, office parties, festivals and so on.

Just like at Sakaya Kitchen, Dim Ssäm à gogo will tread lightly to offset our 18’ foot-print with biodegradable utensils, cups made from corn, recycled materials and the like.

Hales is working with LA tattoo artist Adam Foreman of High Voltage Tattoo LA Ink fame on the truck exterior design and Food Cart USA in Miami on the 18’ custom truck build.

YAH Says : This charcoal toned and… view more

This charcoal toned and tattoed truck brings not so traditional dim sum to Miami's mobile food scene. Eye catching as it is, Dim Ssam is all about good eats, and even though it's brand spanking new to the portable dining landscape, it's culinary reputation stems from its parent (but also young) company - Sakaya Kitchen, found at 3401 N Miami Avenue.

Sakaya took to the streets with Dim Ssam and is already building a reputation as a go to spot (when you can find them) for a unique mobile menu, separated from the far to often found taco stand variety so common in Miami. Feedback from those feeding around Dim Ssam's truck sang the praises of their Kimchi Grilled Cheese (a crunchy, spicy, brown sugar tinted grilled cheese sandwiched between pumpernickel), while our palates prefered the Cracklin' Duck Herb Sandwich (there was a definite hint of cinnamon!) which used a chewy potato bun and spicy mayo to add a knockout flavor. Pay Dim Ssam A GoGo a visit when you see them to make sure they become a staple in the food truck business of Miami.

YAH Says : Miami's Mr. Good Stuff… view more

Miami's Mr. Good Stuff food truck is a big yellow mobile purveyor of Venezuelan cuisine. Owner Alfredo Montero introduces the regional staple Venezuelan flat bread - Arepa - to the Southeastern tip of the United States with flare. The fan favorite at Mr. Good Stuff is the Sweet Caroline - Arepa stuffed with pulled pork, cocoa flavoring, and an espresso rub that results in a unique, sweet, and salty creation. The fun to order - Badonk-a-donk - is a meatloaf meal from Mr. Montero's Mom's kitchen that uses Black Angus Beef, Italian Sausage (key ingredient!), a healthy peppering of garlic and paprika and a cheese combination of Mozzarella and Provolone. The Badonk-a-donk (we needed to say the name twice) is the answer to those tired of the traditionally bland comfort food know as meatloaf. Finally, we have to recommend the Coconut Curry Pineapple Express, which stuffs a Tropical/Caribbean concoction of chicken, pineapple, smothered in a curry cream sauce, and stuffed into our new favorite flatbread of Florida - Arepa! (shout it like "Arriba!" for fun).

NEXT TIME WE'LL...

...try the Ain't Yo Mamma's Fries ($5 - Cajun sweet potato waffle fries served with maple syrup)

YAH Says : You half expect this… view more

You half expect this black and pink flame painted truck to low ride and flip switches through the streets of Miami, but aesthetics aside, the Latin Burger & Taco Truck is heavily influenced by Texas cuisine, which becomes apparent when eying the longhorn logo by its name. The owner, hailing from Texas, has no problem laying claim to having the best burgers in Miami and there are more than a few souls salivating in line for Latin Burger & Taco that will agree.

The Latin Macho Burger is packed full of tasty testosterone, combining sirloin beef, chuck, chorizo sausage, caramelized onions, jalepenos, and white American cheese (ask for extra red pepper mayo!). Our other big recommendation is the Pulled Pork Taco, a sweet and spicy BBQ pork taco topped with chopped avocado, cilantro, and onions.

Taco trucks may be a familiar site in Miami but LB&T brings something unique to the table - on wheels - and that comes in the form of Texan flare.
