Frankie's Tiki Room

Frankie's Tiki Room is a unique combination of south seas exotica and modern primitivism, with just a hint of Las Vegas kitsch.  One hundred percent original and deeply rooted in tiki tradition, Frankie's is the place where you can escape to the fantasy any hour of the day or night.  Where you can order up your buzz from the menu of exotic rum drinks in the tiki lounge, or enjoy traditional cocktails while gambling at the bar in classic Las Vegas style.

The interior of Frankie's was built by Bamboo Ben, the world's foremost tiki bar designer and grandson of Eli Hedley.  Eli is remembered as the original beachcomber, scavenging from the sea to create the decor at such fabulous destinations as Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, and the Las Vegas classic Aku Aku at the Stardust.

Frankie's link to Las Vegas' tiki past also includes original carvings by Tiki Bosko, who created exotic works of art not only at the Tropicana, but also the short lived but sorely missed Taboo Cove at the Venetian.  Frankie's signature tiki is a monstrous island warrior by Crazy Al Evans, surrounded by extraordinary carvings by Tiki Ray and the much revered godfather of all tiki carvers, Leroy Schmaltz.

Many of the top artists in the world had a hand in creating Frankie's unique vibe.  The offbeat designs of the souvenir tiki mugs are unprecedented.  And the 'Vice Tester' carnival game, designed and built by Shag, must be seen to be believed.

This remarkable combination of traditional carvings and lowbrow art, along with a soundtrack which bounces from exotica & surf to grind & garage ...... makes Frankie's Tiki Room an amazing one of a kind experience.  This bar will absolutely blow your mind.

YAH Says...

While it's hard to take any themed bar in Las Vegas seriously due to the fact that the city itself is one big theme park for grown-ups and barely any establishment registers as being authentic, there is no denying Frankie's Tiki Room's place on the Best Tiki Bars in America list. Yes Las Vegas is kitsch all the way and Frankie's too holds a smidgen of that description (slot machines in a tiki bar = big turn off) but they pull it off in a manner that still makes you feel at home if your home at heart belongs to an island retreat and not acreage in the Nevada desert. In a land that recreates miniatures of the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty it comes as no surprise that any venue on or off the strip could mimic tiki chic decor to the tee but what makes Frankie's more true is that it captures the soul of tiki culture not only in brick, mortar, and bamboo accents, but in its friendly laid back service, chill clientele, music, and an expansive menu of rum and tropical liqueurs that fit the mold perfectly. It can get busy in Frankie's especially if an inordinate amount of tiki culture fans happen to be in town but the saving grace at Frankie's Tiki Room is found in the fact that they are open 24hrs a day. If you want to soak up the atmosphere over your favorite rum mix in relative solace then you can slipper shuffle your way into Frankie's in the wee small hours of the night or at the crack of Las Vegas dawn.

We'll let Frankie's Tiki Room's Drink Menu do the talking but without question our favorite order is the creamy Kahiki Kai - an absolute perfect blend of Coconut Rum, Banana Liqueur, and Pineapple Juice blended finer than Ululani's Shave Ice. Every time we pass through town we insist that we'll sample something else but our will power folds the minute we walk in and another round of Kahiki Kai's grace our table once again.

Note: Remember you're in Vegas and so there is smoking allowed in Frankie's Tiki Room. If a smokey room is a turn off then order quick, drink quick, snap pics, and turn around. We do.
