ABOUT Neon Boneyard Las Vegas  From Management Website

Neon Boneyard Las Vegas

Located in fabulous downtown Las Vegas, the Neon Boneyard Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history of the city through its most iconic art forms, the neon sign. The Neon Boneyard Museum’s collection consists of three components:  the Neon Boneyard, the Downtown Gallery and the Las Vegas Signs project.

The Neon Boneyard is home to over 150 donated and rescued signs dating from the 1930’s to present day.  Located within a two-acre outdoor museum space, the unrestored collection includes signs from businesses, motels and celebrated casino resorts originally located throughout the Las Vegas valley.

The Downtown Gallery (Fremont Street at Las Vegas Blvd) and the Las Vegas Signs Project (located on Las Vegas Blvd. between Sahara and Washington Street) feature 15 electrified, restored signs installed as public art throughout the downtown area.  These signs are available for viewing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

YAH Says...

Neon Boneyard Las Vegas

The Neon Boneyard may sound like a Nevada brothel but in reality it’s where the neon signs and bright lights of Las Vegas lore go to die when leases run out downtown and along The Strip. Located at Las Vegas Boulevard North the Neon Boneyard is a slight stretch away from the working lights of tourist central but it’s absolutely worth the visit for a taste of the neon nostalgia that the town was illuminated by in its heyday.

The entire experience of the museum, restored sign project, and the Boneyard are gaining in popularity by the day as shows such as American Restoration and American Pickers gain Nielson rating momentum with demographics of all ages. It goes without saying to come fully strapped with a camera and smartphone with a variety of photo filter apps. You’ll be sorting through countless of pictures into the week following your trip to the Neon Boneyard attempting to narrow down which ones best capture the soul of the old Las Vegas.

The Neon Boneyard is pure magic and as each new hotel goes up around The Strip another addition to the Boneyard is sure to follow. Such is the circle of life in Las Vegas.
